Hi, I’m Maria
I grew up in Eastern Kentucky and I’ve always been an artist. Painting, drawing, sculpture and even sewing are among some of my favorite hobbies. My real passion, however, is learning. I enjoy growing my skills and working to become the best at my interests.
I first began to study web development and design on my own while still in highschool. After highschool, I attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I studied Media Arts, Graphic Design and Animation.
I transferred to The Kentucky School of Craft where I finished as a certified bench jeweler and professional studio artist with an AAS in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing.
Some time after college, I found what I thought was my dream job.
I worked as a bench jeweler for one of the world’s top jewelry names. After spending a little over a year in this role I began to realize I’ve always been far more interested in the creative aspect of designing than I am in the fabrication of the jewelry.
This led me to back to interests in web design.
Over the past few years I have worked with startup companies to create branding and graphic designs as well as building websites using WordPress, Elementor and basic HTML & CSS.
I continue to work to improve my skills and build new ones. I’m self taught in HTML5, CSS3, SEO, and I am currently working on becoming certified in UX Design so I can build better websites.
